Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your account: your name, email address and password (stored scrambled, never readable by us), and anything you add to your profile, such as a photo, bio or city.
• If you continue with Google: your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account. We don't get your Google password, contacts or anything else.
• Bookings: the services you book, when and where, who with, notes you leave, and your answers to a pro's questions before an appointment (which can include things like allergies).
• Payments: card payments are handled by the business's payment company, Stripe or Square. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a record of what was paid and, if you save a card, its brand and last four digits.
• Forms you sign: when a business asks you to fill in a form (such as health questions or consent), your answers, your drawn signature, your date of birth if asked, and when and from which internet (IP) address you signed. If a parent or guardian signs for you, their name, relationship and signature.
• What you share: looks and photos you post, comments, likes, saved boards, follows, reviews and messages.
• For pros and stores: business details, services, prices, hours, locations, team members, and the client records you keep (such as clients' phone numbers, notes, allergies and signed forms), including clients, services and appointments a business brings over from Square when it moves to BeautyReso.
• Basic technical information: the cookies that keep you logged in and remember settings (like your calendar view), and the logs our hosting providers keep to run the service securely. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show your profile and posts.
• To make, change and remind you about bookings, and to take payments.
• To send emails you need, like booking confirmations, reminders, changes and receipts, and to let you message pros and clients.
• To keep BeautyReso safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• The pros and stores you book with see what they need for your appointment: your name, contact details, booking details, notes and answers. They may keep their own records of their clients.
• Other people on BeautyReso see what you choose to make public, such as your profile, posts, comments and reviews.
• Service providers that run BeautyReso for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe and Square (payments, for the businesses that use them), Resend (email) and Google (if you sign in with Google). They only use your information to provide their service to us.
• When the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.

Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records for tax purposes).

Your choices

• You can see and change your profile in your account settings at any time.
• To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account, email tito@beautyreso.ca from the address on your account. We'll reply within 30 days.
• Pros and stores choose which reminder and update emails they send; you can contact them about those, or email us.

Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections, and each person and business can only reach the information they're allowed to see. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.

Children

BeautyReso is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact
